BJP Gives 3 Seats to HD Deve Gowda’s Party in Karnataka: Sources

Bengaluru: The BJP has made a seat-sharing deal with the Janata Dal (Secular) in Karnataka. As per reports,  HD Deve Gowda-led party, JDS has been provided three seats as part of the seat-sharing arrangement.

The JDS will contest Karnataka’s Mandya, Hassan and Kolar seats, sources said. In Bangalore Rural constituency, Deve Gowda’s son-in-law CN Manjunath will fight as a BJP candidate.

Out of the three seats the JDS has secured, Kolar is currently held by the BJP, Hassan by the JDS and Mandya by an Independent.

Earlier, Kumaraswamy had declared that the JDS would announce candidates on its own if they did not get three seats as part of the seat-sharing deal with the BJP.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, the BJP had won 25 out of  Karnataka’s 28 seats. The Congress and the JDS won one each.
