BJP Sweeps Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh; Congress Wins Telangana

In a decisive electoral triumph, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured significant victories in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan, overshadowing the Congress. While the Congress found solace in a substantial win in Telangana, Mizoram’s results are anticipated tomorrow due to the Election Commission’s decision to respect the Christian-majority state’s Sunday observance.

Madhya Pradesh:

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan emerged as a key player, steering the BJP to a substantial win in Madhya Pradesh, leading in 166 seats out of 230. Chouhan credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the victory, emphasizing the PM’s resonance with the people.

Chhattisgarh:

The BJP is poised for success in Chhattisgarh, leading in 53 seats, nearing the majority mark of 90, while the Congress trails with 35 seats. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel overcame an initial setback and now leads in Patan constituency.

Rajasthan:

Anti-incumbency favored the BJP in Rajasthan, where it is leading in 115 seats, wresting power from the Congress. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot conceded defeat, acknowledging the unexpected outcome. Sachin Pilot secured victory in the Tonk seat.

Telangana:

Telangana became a consolation for the Congress, leading in 64 seats against the Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s (BRS) 40. Chief Minister KCR led in Gajwel but trailed in Kamareddy. Congress leader Revanth Reddy is ahead in Kamareddy.

As the BJP celebrates its success, Mizoram’s election results are awaited, postponed by a day to respect the state’s Sunday observance.
