Boat Capsizes in Assam Due to Heavy Storm Killing 3 Including 2 Children

Guwahati: Three persons including two children met a watery grave when a boat capsized in the Brahmaputra River on Sunday night due to a heavy storm.

Around 20 people were rescued from the capsized boat.

The mishap occurred while the ill-fated boat was passing through the South-Salmara Mankachar district in Assam.

The boat was ferrying passengers consisting of both women and children, from Kali Alga Ghat to Nepur Alga Charanchal, reported India Today.

Local fishermen and authorities rushed to the scene to rescue the passengers.
