CEO of Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Corporation Resigns

Bhubaneswar: Siba Prasad Samantaray, the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Corporation (BMRC) has tendered his resignation.

According to reports, he resigned as the Odisha government did not extend his tenure.

He was appointed as CEO of the BMRC in July 2023 for a period of one year and his tenure expired on July 31.

Following his resignation, the BMRC General Manager (Administration) Prasanna Kumar Sarangi will temporarily manage the responsibilities of the CEO till the state government makes a new appointment.

Recently, the Odisha Housing & Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra said that the Bhubaneswar Metro Rail project is expected to be functional by the end of 2027.
