Mumbai: Dhoom director Sanjay Gadhvi passed away on Sunday morning at his residence in Mumbai at the age of 56. Gadhvi, known for directing blockbuster hits like “Dhoom” (2004) and “Dhoom 2” (2006) under Yash Raj Films, was just three days away from his 57th birthday.
Despite being in good health, Gadhvi’s elder daughter, Sanjina, revealed that he succumbed to a sudden ailment, suspected to be a heart attack, around 9:30 AM. His unexpected demise has left the family shocked, as there were no prior indications of any health issues.
Gadhvi began his directorial journey in 2000 with “Tere Liye” and subsequently collaborated with Yash Raj Films for “Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai” in 2002. Apart from Sanjina, he is survived by his wife and another daughter.
The Indian film industry mourns the loss of a talented director, and fans remember Gadhvi for his significant contributions to the success of the “Dhoom” series.
