Doctor at SCB Allegedly Sexually Assaults 2 Patients; Admitted to ICU After Beaten by Angry Relatives of Victims

Cuttack: A doctor of the cardiology department of the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack is alleged to have sexually assaulted two patients.

This incident has come to fore, when doctors across the country are demonstrating, demanding security for them at the hospitals following the rape and murder of a female doctor in a government medical college hospital in Kolkata.

According to reports, the accused doctor was ruthlessly thrashed by the relatives of the two victims and he has been admitted to the ICU of the SCB Medical College and Hospital.

The accused doctor of SCB allegedly sexually assaulted the two victims on August 11, when they came for ECG tests.

Following a complaint, the personnel of the Mangalabag police station have started an investigation into the matter after registering a case.

The statements of the victims are being recorded as per the legal provisions. Police have also received information regarding the concerned doctor being beaten up. A case will be registered if the concerned doctor complains.
