Dutee Chand Fails Dope Test, Banned for 4 Years

Bhubaneswar: India’s ace female sprinter Dutee Chand was banned from all competitions for four years following her failure in the dope test for selective androgen receptor modulators (SARMs).

Her ban period is to be counted from January 3, 2023.

Added to it, all wins she obtained in competitive events from the date of her sample collection (December 5, 2022) shall stand disqualified with all resulting consequences including the forfeiture of medals, points and prizes, stated a notification of the Anti Doping Disciplinary Panel (ADDP).

Dutee was tested twice on December 5 and 26 in 2022 by National Anti-Doping Agency’s dope control officers in Bhubaneswar. According to reports, her first sample had the presence of anabolic agents andarine, ostarine and ligandrol. The second sample had traces of andarine and ostarine, reports said.
