Earthquake of 6.2 Magnitude Hits Indonesia

An earthquake of 6.2 magnitude on the Richter Scale shook up the Halmahera region in Indonesia, on Wednesday, said the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ).

The epicentre of the quake was at a depth of 120 km, added GFZ added.

No damages have been reported till now.

Indonesia is on the “Pacific Ring of Fire”, an area of high seismic activity as it rests upon multiple tectonic plates.
