Encounter in Cuttack, Hardcore Criminal Injured by Police Bullet

 

Cuttack: Hardcore criminal Manoj Moharana was injured in an encounter with personnel of Commissionerate Police near Uttamapur under Cuttack Sadar police station limits on Friday night.

The injured accused was arrested. He sustained a bullet injury on his left leg and was admitted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital.

Arrested Manoj was a key member of the Tapu gang, operating in the Cuttack area. He was in the most wanted list of the police in connection with the recent dacoity case at the Kandarpur area in which valuables worth lakhs were looted from a businessman. Getting information about Manoj’s whereabouts, a police team of Kandarpur police station tracked down Manoj near Uttamapur.

When rounded up, Manoj fired at the police personnel and he was injured in the retaliatory firing by the cops.

A gun and ammunition were seized from Manoj.
