Fake Doctor Posing to be from AIIMS Arrested in Ganjam Dist

Berhampur: A fake doctor claiming to be a specialist from AIIMS Delhi was arrested by personnel of Digapahandi police station in Ganjam district. The arrested man identified as Subhrajit Panda was running a clinic in Sanakhemundi without having an authorised medical degree.

He was found to have only passed higher secondary. Investigation revealed that he was treating people using the information he got from some medical representatives. He was charging Rs 300 as consultation fee from the patients.

He was earlier arrested by Telangana police in February 2020. At that time he had attended a doctors’ conference posing as a member of the World Health Organization (WHO).

But this accused from Sandha village in Dhenkanal district claimed that he was a specialist doctor from AIIMS. Interestingly this fake doctor also ran a parallel clinic in the Ranihat area of Cuttack.

A police team raided the Babul Clinic run by this fake doctor in Sanakhemundi and detained the man as he could not produce any authentic certificate to support his MBBS degree and registration number for medical practice.

His rented house at Sanakhemundi, his clinic at Ranihat in Cuttack, and his residence in Cuttack were also raided. A luxurious car owned by him was also seized.
