Fake Hair Oil Production Unit Busted in Berhampur

Berhampur: A fake hair oil manufacturing unit operating at Lane No-4 of Shastri Nagar area of Berhampur city in was busted by Berhampur police on late Sunday night. According to police sources, this unit was manufacturing and selling fake hair oil in the name of a reputed brand.

The personnel of the Basabazar police station raided this clandestine unit following a complaint lodged by the company regarding the adulterated hair oil manufacturing unit that was using the name, logo and copyrights of the Kolkata-based branded coconut hair oil company.

During the raid, a huge quantity of raw materials, packaging materials and machines used to prepare and pack the duplicate was seized.

This fake hair oil manufacturing unit was illegally using the brand, logo, design, colour and copyrights of Shalimar to prepare and sell fake hair oil.

After a complaint was lodged a month back, police started an investigation and busted the duplicate hair oil manufacturing unit.

The fake oil manufacturing unit was using liquid paraffin to make its duplicate oil while the branded company marketed original coconut oil.
