5 Arrested in Berhampur’s +2 Student Gang Rape Case

Berhampur: Five persons were arrested by the personnel of the Baidanathpur police station in Odisha’s Berhampur on charges of drugging and raping a girl studying in +2 classes.

Speaking to the media, Berhampur Superintendent of Police (SP) Sarthak Sarangi said, none of the accused youth was victim’s friend. They are all adults.

As per police investigation, the girl was called to a private mess by the accused persons while she was standing on the roadside. There the accused drugged her and then gang-raped her.

The matter came to the fore when the rape survivor filed a complaint with the police. Based on her complaint, police had detained eight persons.
