Former IPS and MP Anadi Sahu passes Away in Cuttack

Cuttack: Former Lok Sabha MP of Odisha’s Berhampur passed away at his residence in Cuttack at the age of 83. This former IPS Officer was elected from Berhampur to the Parliament on a BJP ticket in the year 1999. He was also a renowned litterateur.

He breathed his last on Friday night at his residence at CDA sector-6 in Cuttack. He was suffering from age-related ailments.

As an IPS officer, he received the President’s Police Medal and Distinguished Service Medal.

After resigning from police service in 1996, Anandi Sahu contested from Cuttack Lok Sabha constituency as a Congress candidate against former Chief Minister late Biju Patnaik. He lost the poll by 57,807 votes.

Later on he joined the BJP to become the Berhampur MP.

His funeral will be held at Satichoura cremation ground in Cuttack.
