Ganja Worth Rs 40 Lakh Seized from 2 Vehicles in Koraput, 2 Arrested

Koraput: Personnel of the Machkund police station in Koraput district seized ganja worth 40 lakhs rupees while the contraband was being smuggled by two vehicles on Monday.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team intercepted the vehicles that were transporting the cannabis from Koraput district to outside Odisha.

The police team seized the vehicles and arrested the miscreants near Tusuba Square, Lamptaput.

The two accused caught are identified as Manoj Oram (36), and Mohammad Sarfaraj (20) from the Jharsuguda district of Odisha.

Eighteen bags containing over 409 Kg of marijuana were unearthed from the two vehicles.

Further investigation is on to unearth the complete network of the persons involved in this narcotics smuggling racket.
