Ganja Worth Rs 60 Lakh Seized in Koraput Dist

Koraput: At least six quintals of Ganja worth around Rs 60 lakh was seized in Godiput forest under Padua police station limits in Odisha’s Koraput district on Sunday night.

But taking advantage of the darkness and dense forest, the ganja mafia present at the spot managed to escape from the spot during the police raid.

Police have started an investigation to ascertain the identity of the persons who were involved in the illicit ganja trafficking iniside the forest.

Initial investigation hints that the cannabis was stocked inside the forest for transportation outside the state. Police have registered an NDPS case and further investigation into the matter is underway.
