10 Quintal Ganja Seized in Gajapati Dist, 2 Arrested

Paralakhemundi: Around ten quintals of ganja was seized in Mohana Police Station area in the Gajapati district of Odisha on Thursday. Two persons involved in the illegal transportation of the contraband were arrested.

The arrested persons were transporting the cannabis in a pick-up van, which was seized by the police. The seized marijuana is said to be worth around Rs 50 lakh.

According to police sources, the seized contraband was being transported from Gajapati to Ganjam district.

The two arrested persons involved in the ganja smuggling were identified as Hemant Swayam of Digapahandi police station area in Ganjam district and Ramesh Sualsingh of Mohana police station region. Cash worth Rs 35,000 and mobile phones were also seized from the arrested persons.
