Massive Landslide Washes Away Major Portion of Highway in Arunachal Near China Border

New Delhi: A massive landslide washed away a major portion of a highway in Arunachal Pradesh in the region bordering China, disrupting road connectivity with Dibang valley.

Vehicles were unable to cross to the other side as a large portion of the highway went missing after the landslide.

The region witnessed heavy landslides on Thursday between Hunli and Anini on the National Highway-33 due to heavy rainfall over the past few days.

Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu took to X to address the landslide incident, stating that instructions have been given for the restoration of connectivity at the “earliest.”
