Ganjam Man Kills Wife, Disposes Her Chopped Body in River

Berhampur: A man in Odisha’s Ganjam district allegedly chopped off his wife’s body after strangling her to death and disposed of them in the Rushikulya river on Wednesday.

The accused identified as Narayan Muli Bhagabanpur village under Surada police station, surrendered before police on Thursday. He confessed that he had murdered his wife Buli Muli following a marital tussle.

Narayan allegedly strangled Buli to death with the help of a belt on Wednesday night. To hide his crime, Narayan carried the body on his shoulder to the banks of the Rushikulya river. There he chopped the body into pieces and threw them into the flowing river.

The police have registered a case in this regard and sought the help of the Fire Brigade to retrieve the victim’s body parts from the river.
