Guidelines For +3 Admission to Odisha Colleges Modified; Check Changes

Bhubaneswar: Guidelines for admissions to +3 degree courses have been modified in Odisha to enable students, who have already taken admission after phase I of UG counselling to participate in the phase II admission process under SAMS, informed Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj on Saturday.

Earlier, the department had announced that the students, who had locked their choice, would not be eligible for second-phase admission.

“The earlier decision was taken since the admission process was getting stretched. However, several students were not aware of it since they had applied through centres. New rules are being implemented following requests from such students,” the Minister said.

As per the changed guidelines, even if a student has taken admission in the first phase, s/he will be given a chance to take part in the second phase of admission process. The website has been reopened for necessary action.

According to the minister, this norm will be followed strictly from the next academic year.

The admission process for +3 degree courses began on July 12 and will continue till August 26.
