Huge Cache of Maoist Explosives Seized in Malkangiri

Malkangiri: Personnel of the District Voluntary Force (DVF) seized a huge cache of explosives from a secret Maoist dump buried underground in a jungle area near the Dayaltung village under Kalimela PS in Malkangiri district bordering Andhra Pradesh.

A huge quantity of IEDs and explosive materials used to prepare IEDs was seized from the spot.

According to the Malkangiri police, the seized items included 190 gelatin sticks, one 20-kg IED, five 7-kg IED, one 5-kg IED, one 4-kg IED, three 3-kg IED and another 2-kg IED.

It is suspected that the explosives belong to the Maoist cadres of AOBSZC.

Following the discovery of the explosive dump, combing operation has been intensified in the area.
