Indian Married Woman Weds Pakistani Facebook Friend

New Delhi: Anju, an Indian married woman with two children traveled legally to Pakistan and married a Pakistani citizen, whom she had befriended on Facebook.  on Tuesday after converting to Islam, a senior police official said.

While Anju is 34 years old, her Pakistani husband Nasrullah is of 29 years. They had become friends on Facebook in 2019.

Anju converted to Islam and tied the knot in a local court of a district and sessions judge in the Upper Dir district of Pakistan.

Anju was renamed Fatima after her conversion to Islam.

On Monday, Nasrullah and Anju went together on a sightseeing trip to the Lawari tunnel amid tight security.

She shared a short video in which she says she “feels safe here” in Pakistan, reported Geo News. In the message, she requested media not to harass her relatives and children.

Anju is married to Arvind of Rajasthan, with a 15-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son. Without informing her family, she traveled legally to Pakistan from India via the Wagah-Attari border. She is in Pakistan on a 30-day visa.

Her Pakistani husband Nasrullah is a science graduate and the youngest among five brothers.

In a similar case, Seema Ghulam Haider, a Pakistani mother of four, entered India illegally to live with Sachin Meena, a Hindu man she got in touch with while playing PUBG in 2019.
