Nadankanan Gets Hoolock Gibbons, Leopard Cats from Arunachal

Bhubaneswar: Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP) two Hoolock Gibbons and two Leopard Cats from the Itanagar Biological Park in Arunachal Pradesh under an animal exchange programme.

In exchange, the NZP will provide two tigers, Rocky and Sohini to Itanagar Zoo authorities.

The tiger Rocky is an offspring of Bijay and Saif, born on March 28, 2021. Tigress Sohini was born on April 14, 2021 to Megha and Nandan.

Since birth Rocky and Sohini were members of the Nandankanan Zoo.

Worth mentioning, Nandankanan Zoological Park and a botanical garden adjacent to it were established in 1960. It was opened to the public in 1979.
