Interim Budget 2024: Ten Major Points Highlighted by Finance Min Nirmala Sitharaman

New Delhi: Central Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday presented the interim budget for 2024 in the Lok Sabha on Thursday. In her Budget 2024 speech, she highlighted the “positive transformation” of the Indian economy that took place in the last 10 years of the Narendra Modi-led NDA government.

She reiterated that based on the performance during past 10 years, her government will be elected again with a resounding mandate in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

These are the key points of Nirmala Sitharaman’s Budget 2024 speech:

*We are working to make India a Viksit Bharat by 2047. Previously, social justice was only a political slogan. For our government, it is a necessary governance model.

*Speaking about the recently announced rooftop solarisation scheme, Sitharaman said, “One crore households will be enabled to obtain 300 units of free electricity every month.”

*Our government plans to set up more medical colleges by using existing hospital infrastructure. A committee will be set up to make recommendations on this. The Ayushman Bharat Scheme will be extended to all Aasha, Aanganwadi workers and helpers.”
