Union Budget 2024: Govt Plans New Scheme to Help Middle Class to Buy or Build Houses

New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during her budget speech on Thursday declared that very soon the government will announce a scheme targeting the middle class to enable people living in rented houses, slums or unauthorised colonies to buy or build their own houses.

“A scheme soon be launched to help deserving sections of the middle class living in rented houses or slums or chawls or unauthorised colonies to buy or build their own houses,” she said while presenting the interim Budget in the Lok Sabha.

During his Independence Day speech in 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said a scheme would be brought out soon for the poor and the middle class who lived in slums, chawls, unauthorised colonies and rented houses, so that they avail home loans from banks with relief in interest rates.
