Union Budget 2024: Sitharaman Promises 2 Cr Houses in 5 Yrs Under PMAGY

New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during her presentation of Budget 2024 on Thursday said the government will build two crore houses in the next five years under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Gramin Yojana. These houses will be built to meet the increase in the number of families.

Presenting the interim Budget in the Lok Sabha, the Finance Minister said, “Two crore more houses will be built in the next five years to meet the requirements arising from the increase in the number of families.”

“Despite the challenges of the pandemic, PM Awas Gramin Yojana’s implementation continued. We are close to achieving the target of three crore houses. And two crore more houses will be taken up in the next five years to meet the requirements arising from the increase in the number of families,” she said.
