Kendrapara MP & Ollywood Actor Anubhav Mohanty Quits BJD

Bhubaneswar: Kendrapara MP and Odia film actor Anubhav Mohanty resigned from the primary membership of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Saturday.

It was the third major resignation from the BJD on Saturday after former MLAs -Priyadarshi Mishra and actor-politician Akash Das Nayak.

Anubhav Mohanty submitted his resignation to the BJD party president Naveen Patnaik.

On 27 April 2013, he joined the regional political party BJD.  He was elected to Rajya Sabha uncontested in June 2014 and was the youngest parliamentarian of Rajyasabha.

In 2019, he was elected as a Lok Sabha MP from the Kendrapara constituency by defeating BJP’s Baijayant Panda.
