Kerala Orders to Kill Man-Eater Tiger That Ate Farmer in Wayanad Dist

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala forest department made an official order on Sunday to kill a man-eater tiger that attacked and partially ate up a 36-year-old farmer in the Wayanad district on Saturday.

However, the order clarified that the officials have to first confirm that the tiger is a man-eater before killing the animal.

The order stated, “If the animal cannot be captured or tranquilised, and it is established as a man-eater, then it should be killed, as it has become dangerous to human life in the region.”

The Kerala forest department has installed 11 trap cameras in various locations to track down the man-eater tiger.

On Saturday (December 9), the tiger killed a farmer identified as Prajeesh and consumed a portion of the dead body.

In January, a 52-year-old farmer was killed by a tiger in Wayanad district.
