Leopard Roaming in Baripada Town Captured

Baripada: Personnel of the forest department captured the wild leopard that was found roaming in Baripada town of Mayurbhanj district on Friday morning.

According to reports, the forest officials tranquillized the leopard and caged it on the premises of Budhikhamaria Primary School in Baripada town.

The leopard was sighted near the Budhikhamaria Primary School. When stray dogs barked and chased the leopard, it entered the school premises.

Getting information from locals, forest officials rushed to the spot to safely capture the wild cat. It is suspected that the leopard strayed out of the Similipal Sanctuary and entered the Baripada town in search of food.
