Malkangiri ZP Member, Expelled from BJD, Arrested for Cheating Job Aspirants

Malkangiri: Malkangiri Zilla Parishad Member Sasmita Majhi, who was earlier expelled from the party by the BJD, was arrested by the personnel of the Mathili police station on Friday in connection with a fraud case in Jagatsinghpur.

Sasmita is alleged to have impersonated as a relative of VK Pandian to con job aspirants of lakhs of rupees. Police have arrested three persons including Sasmita Majhi in this case of duping job aspirants in the name of VK Pandian. Two other accused including one Ramesh Rout were arrested from Bhubaneswar three days back.

The three accused used to introduce themselves as close aides of VK Pandian and were collecting money from the gullible in the name of providing jobs. Sasmita was allegedly posing as a relative of Pandian.

Their racket extended from Kendrapara to Malkangiri. Cases have been registered against them at the Mathili police station.

The police are investigating to unearth their total network and the number of people they duped.
