Man Smuggles Liquor in Nephew’s Teddy Bear in Dry Bihar, Arrested

Patna: A man trying to smuggle liquor hiding it inside a large teddy bear of his 7-year-old nephew was arrested in Bihar’s Saran district.

The excise officials recovered several tetra packs of liquor concealed inside the teddy bear.

The accused was smuggling the liquor from Uttar Pradesh into Bihar, where liquor is completely banned.

He was traveling in a commercial vehicle along with his minor nephew. The vehicle was intercepted by the Bihar Excise Department officials at a checkpost at the UP-Bihar border in Saran district.

The huge teddy bear in the hands of his nephew drew suspicion. When it was checked with a scanner, the presence of suspicious items inside it was confirmed. Later several tetra packs of liquor were found inside the teddy bear.

The man was arrested but the child has been handed over to his parents.
