Maoist with Rs 14 lakh Reward on Head Slain in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: A 25-year-old Maoist carrying a reward of Rs 14 lakh on his head was killed in an encounter with security forces in Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh on Friday morning.

The Naxalite, identified as Kamlu, was an active member of the ‘Naxali Dalam Tanda Dadekasa’ unit of the banned outfit.

He was killed in an exchange of fire with Madhya Pradesh police’s elite Hawk Force during a search operation in the Kundal-Koddapar and Sounguda forest areas under the Roopjhar police station limits.

It is suspected that some other Maoists were injured in this encounter. Combing operation has been intensified in the area to locate them.
