Militants Ambush Manipur CM’s Convoy, 1 Security Personnel Injured

Imphal: Armed militants ambushed the convoy of Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh in Kangpokpi district on Monday. On security personnel was injured in this militant attack.

As per reports, the Manipur CM’s convoy was travelling to Jiribam district from Imphal when it was ambushed by the militants along the National Highway-37 at around 10.30 am.

The Chief Minister was planning to visit Jiribam, where fresh incidents of violence have occurred after unknown miscreants killed a man on June 6. The killing of the man in Jiribam led to the torching of around 70 houses as well as some government offices. Hundreds of people are fleeing the area after the recent spurt of violence.
