Mob Ransacks Buguda CHC in Ganjam Dist Following Death of Baby

Berhampur: An angry mob ransacked the Buguda Community Health Centre (CHC) in Odisha’s Ganjam district following the death of a 5-month-old baby. The mob alleged that the infant died due to medical negligence.

According to sources, the five-month-old baby of one Magi Naik, a resident of Neliabandha Sahi in Buguda, was vaccinated at the Baguda CHC on Wednesday. The child’s condition deteriorated at night. When the child was rushed to the CHC at around 3.00 am on Thursday, doctors declared the infant ‘brought dead’.

However, the exact reason for the child’s death is yet to be ascertained. But the family members of the dead child as well as locals alleged that the baby had died due to medical negligence. They went on a rampage at the health centre. Local police rushed to the spot to take the situation under control.
