Mysterious Death at De-Addiction Centre, Family Alleges Murder

Bhubaneswar: Following the death of an inmate at a de-addiction centre under Dhauli police station limits on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, his family members alleged that he was beaten to death.

The deceased was identified as Chhabi Nayak.

He was admitted to the de-addiction centre around three months back. His family members alleged that he was facing torture at the de-addiction centre.

An employee of the centre telephoned the family members of Chhabi Nayak at around 3 am passing the information that he was not well.

Later the family received news about Chhabi’s death on Tuesday morning.

Police have seized the body and sent it to the Capital Hospital here for post-mortem. Further investigation is underway.
