Avalanche Hits Army Army Training Camp in Ladakh, One Killed, Three Missing

New Delhi: A training team of the Indian Army was caught in an avalanche in the Kun mountain region of Ladakh. One soldier was killed while three others are missing.

The accident occurred when a contingent of around 40 personnel of the High Altitude Warfare School (HAWS) and the Adventure Wing of the army were and engaged in a training activity near Mount Kun when they faced an avalanche.

Four personnel were trapped underneath the snow. Immediate rescue operations led to the recovery of the mortal remains of one person.
