New Delhi: Narendra Modi was sworn in today as Prime Minister for his third consecutive term, leading a new coalition government.

The ceremony, held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan lawns, saw President Droupadi Murmu administering the oath to Modi.

This marks Modi’s return to power following his initial win in 2014, which ended a decade of United Progressive Alliance (UPA) governance.

Joining PM Modi, 72 ministers also took the oath of office. The new cabinet includes 30 Cabinet Ministers, five with independent charge, and 36 Ministers of State. The announcement of their respective portfolios is expected soon.

Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah took oath after PM Modi. Nitin Gadkari was the fourth leader to be administered the oath of office. JP Nadda, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Nirmala Sitharaman, S Jaishankar, and Manohar Lal Khattar followed in taking oath.

The Modi 3.0 government ushers in a new phase of leadership, continuing the legacy of the “Brand Modi” victory.
