Nitin Gadkari Inaugurates, Lays Foundation Stones of 28 NH Projects Worth ₹6600 Cr in Odisha

Puri: Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 28 National Highway (NH) projects worth Rs 6600 Crore in Odisha.

The ceremony, conducted via video conferencing due to the Minister’s last-minute cancellation of his trip to Odisha, saw the inauguration of two key projects: a 79 km 4-lane road on NH 49 from Bharagoda to Singhra costing Rs 1203 Crore, and a 78 km 6-lane road on NH 16 from Chandikhole to Bhadrak valued at Rs 2035 Crore.

Gadkari also laid the foundation stones for various projects in Odisha, including road widening, construction of bypasses, and bridge development, totalling 26 initiatives. Notable among these are the Kandarpur-Balikuda road widening on NH-55, Balikuda-Mulakani Khand widening on NH-55 and the construction of a road from Chhatrapur to Gopalpur port.

The event was attended by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and BJP National Spokesperson Sambit Patra in Puri.

Furthermore, 13 additional National Highway projects are slated for implementation in the state, aiming to enhance connectivity and infrastructure development.
