Noted Odia Actor Sachi Das Passes Away at 88

Bhubaneswar: Noted Odia actor, playwright and theatre artiste Sachi Das breathed his last on Thursday at the age of 88 after prolonged illness.

He was well-known in both the cinema and theatre world. According to sources, he was suffering from age-related ailments for quite some time.

Apart from acting in several Odia films, he was a name to reckon in theater world in Odisha. He showed his skills as an actor, director and playwright.

He was honoured with several awards including the prestigious Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and Kabi Samrat Upendra Bhanja Samman for his contribution to the field of performing arts. In 2018, he received the Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Award for his remarkable acting skills.
