Nuh SP on Leave During Communal Violence, Transferred

Chandigarh: Following the communal violence in Haryana’s Nuh district that claimed six lives, the state government transferred the Nuh Superintendent of Police, Varun Singla from the district.

Varun Singla was posted to Bhiwani. The new SP of Nuh will be IPS Narender Bijarniya. Home Department of Haryana issued this order late on Thursday night.

Varun Singla was on leave when deadly communal clashes broke out at the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) rally that killed six people.

Notably, Birjaniya has earlier served as the SP of Nuh.

Communal clashes broke out in Nuh after a VHP procession came under attack, leaving two home guards dead and several people, including around 20 policemen, injured in the frenzy of violence that followed.

Six deaths have been confirmed in the violence in the Nuh district of Haryana.

According to the Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij police have registered 83 FIRs, and 159 people have been arrested after the violence in Nuh and Gurgram districts.
