Odia Actor-Filmmaker Chittaranjan Tripathy is New Director of NSD

Bhubaneswar: Odia actor-filmmaker Chittaranjan Tripathy, has been appointed as the new director of National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi. He is the first Odia to hold the prestigious position.

Tripathy received diploma in acting at the NSD in 1996. Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui was his batchmate.

Tripathy is well known for his role as ‘Trivedi’ in popular series Sacred Games on Netflix.

His first Odia movie as a director was ‘Dhauli Express’ in 2007. Added to it he was the scriptwriter, music director, lyricist, playback singer and producer of ‘Dhauli Express’, which received three Odisha State Film Awards.

He has also acted in several movies. He hails from the Chandbali area of Bhadrak district.
