Odia Air Force Officer Manisha Padhi Becomes First Woman ADC of the Country

New Delhi: Manisha Padhi, an Indian Air Force officer hailing from Odisha became the country’s first woman Aide-De-Camp (ADC) to a Governor.

Squadron Leader Manisha Padhi, a 2015 batch Indian Air Force officer, was appointed as the first woman ADC from the Indian Armed Forces by the Mizoram Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati on Wednesday.

“Her appointment is not just a milestone but a testament to the power of women breaking gender norms and excelling in different fields. Let’s celebrate this remarkable achievement and continue to champion women’s empowerment in every sphere,” said the Governor.

On Wednesday Padhi formally joined her post and reported to the Governor at the Raj Bhavan, Mizoram. Earlier she was posted at Air Force Station, Bidar, Air Force Station, Pune, and Air Force Station, Bhatinda.

Padhi hails from Berhampur and is an alumnus of the C. V. Raman College of Engineering, Bhubaneswar. Her parents reside in Bhubaneswar.
