Odia Poet Ashutosh Parida Selected for Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award

Bhubaneswar: Noted Odia poet Ashutosh Parida was named for the prestigious Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award for the year 2023 for his poetry collection, “Aprastuta Mrutyu’.

Kendra Sahitya Akademi secretary K Srinivasrao declared 24 awards for 24 languages on Wednesday.

Born in 1946 in Kendrapara, Parida is technocrat by profession. He completed his BTech from REC, Rourkela, had his PhD from the IIT Kharagpur and was a scientist at CSIR-IMMT, Bhubaneswar.

He has eleven poetry collections and an anthology of essays to his credit.

In the past, he has received the Odisha Sahitya Akademi Award, Bhanuji Rao Memorial Award, Sachi Routray Kabita Samman, and Satyabadi Sahitya Samman.
