Odisha CM Declares Rs 3 Lakh Ex-Gratia for Next of Kin of 8 Killed in Keonjhar Accident

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed grief over the death of 8 persons from Ganjam district in a road accident in Keonjhar district on Friday morning. He also announced ex-gratia of Rs 3 lakh for the next of kin of each deceased.

The ex-gratia amount will be given from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

The CM also ordered for free treatment of those injured in the road accident.

At least eight persons including three women and a child died and 12 were injured when the van in which they were travelling hit a parked truck on NH-20 near Balijodi in Keonjhar district.

The deceased and the victims were from the Pudamari area in Ganjam district. They were on their way to Gatagaon Tarini temple when they met with the accident near Balijodi, around 3 km away from the temple.
