Odisha EOW to Grill Govinda in Rs 1000 Cr Ponzi Scam Case

Bhubaneswar: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Odisha Crime Branch will interrogate filmstar Govinda in connection with a Rs 1,000 crore pan-India Online Ponzi Scam case.

This scam involved the Solar Techno Alliance (STA-Token) which was illegally operating a pyramid-structured financial scam in the garb of crypto investment.

Bollywood actor Govinda reportedly endorsed the company’s operations in some promotional videos.

According to Odisha police sources, a team from Odisha will soon reach Mumbai to question filmstar Govinda.

Govinda was a major attraction in STA’s grand function in Goa in July and promoted the company in some videos.

“If we find that his role was limited to only endorsement of the product (STAToken brand) as per their business agreement, then we will make him a witness in our case,” EOW inspector general J N Pankaj told TOI.

This fraud company cheated Rs 30 crore from 10,000 people in Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Balasore, Mayurbhanj and Bhubaneswar in Odisha.

The company has also cheated lakhs from investors in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Jharkhand and other states.

Odisha EOW has arrested the company’s country and Odisha heads Gurtej Singh Sidhu and Nirod Das. Lookout circulars have been issued against the company chief David Gez, a Hungarian national.
