Odisha MLA Prafulla Samal’s House Raided by ED

Bhubaneswar: Present MLA of Bhandaripokhari and former minister, Prafulla Samal’s house in Odisha’s Bhadrak district was raided by a team of officials of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday.

According to sources, the ED officials conducted raids at ten places linked to Samal including six places in Bhadrak town and four places in Bhubaneswar. Search operations were taken up at the MLA’s house at Sabana Bazaar as well as at the house of the former principal of Barapada Engineering College at Apartibindha.

Although the ED authorities have not revealed the reason behind these raids, it is suspected that the raids are in connection with alleged financial irregularities at Barapada Engineering College in Bhadrak.
