Odisha Schools to Reopen on June 17 After Sumer Vacation

Bhubaneswar: All schools in Odisha will reopen on June 17 after the end of the summer vacation, informed the state School and Mass Education Department through a notification.

The department has directed all the schools to make necessary arrangements for the reopening of the institutions. All the teachers and staff including cooks and helpers have been directed to join for duty one day before the reopening.

As per the notification, all the classrooms, toilets and campus should be cleaned before the reopening of the schools. It has also been directed to ensure the cutting of bushes (if any), cleaning of overhead tanks and proper arrangement of furniture.

Moreover, the department has directed for cleaning of the kitchen, utensils and gas stoves for safe use during midday meals. Schools have also been asked to discard the expired condiments for cooking, to keep smart classrooms and e-library in ready condition for the students.

The authorities have been directed to ensure internet connection before one week and make safe drinking water available for all the students.

Odisha government had declared summer vacation in schools from April 25, when severe heat wave conditions prevailed across the State.
