Schools in Sambalpur to Reopen on June 22 Instead of June 21

Bhubaneswar: All schools in Odisha will reopen after the summer vacation on June 21. But as per the government decision, reopening of schools in Sambalpur district will be delayed by a day because of the prevailing heat wave condition in the area. The Sambalpur District Education Office has issued a notification regarding it.

After reopening, Sambalpur schools will conduct classes from 6.30 am till 10 am from June 22 to June 24. The mid-day meal will be served to students between 9.30 am and 10 am.

From June 26, all schools will function as per the regular timetable. Earlier, schools in Odisha were to reopen on June 19. But the heat wave compelled the state government to extend the reopening to June 21. The School & Mass Education Department on Monday decided to reopen all schools on June 21 with as usual timing.

But the collectors of seven districts including Sambalpur were authorized to take decisions on declaring holidays and fixing schedules for schools if required in view of the heatwave conditions in their respective districts.
