3 Poachers Arrested While Lighting Fire in Karlapat Sanctuary

Bhawanipatna: Three poachers were caught red handed while they were lighting fire inside the Karlapat sanctuary in Kalahandi district.

In a post on X, the PCCF (wildlife) and Chief Wildlife Warden (CWLW), Odisha wrote, “Three poachers trying to lit up fire in Karlapat sanctuary were arrested and two country rifles were seized yesterday night in Kalahandi district”.

As the heat wave continues in the state, the incidents of forest fires are also on the rise in Odisha. According to a Forest Survey of India (FSI) information released on Saturday, around 4419 fire points were detected in different parts of Odisha during the last seven days.
