Escapee From Bhawanipatna Jail Nabbed from His Village

Bhawanipatna: One of two under-trial prisoners, who escaped from Bhawanipatna jail after jumping over the boundary wall on Sunday morning, was arrested from his village by a joint team of Bhawanipatna Town police and Bhawanipatna Jail officials in Kalhandi district. .

Following the escape of the UTPs identified as Sikandar Jal and Neelmani Majhi, a a massive manhunt was launched to nab them. Sikandar is from Nuapada while Neelmani is an inhabitant of the Dharmagarh area. Both were in jail after being arrested under the POCSO Act.

Sikandar Jal was arrested during a raid at his village. The other escapee Nilamani is still absconding.

Earlier, two murder-accused UTPs escaped from the Titlagarh sub-jail on March 11. The jail warder was suspended on the charges of dereliction of duty in connection with the incident.
