Odisha CM Announces Rs 3 Lakh Ex-Gratia for Family of Deceased in Kalahandi Accident

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced an ex-gratia of Rs 3 lakh each to the families of the two deceased, who lost their lives when the pickup van in which they were travelling overturned near Dokaripada village under Golamunda block in Kalahandi district on Sunday evening.

The Chief Minister expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved families and directed authorities to arrange proper medical treatment of the injured wishing for their early recovery.

Apart from two persons getting killed, 38 others were seriously injured in this accident.

As per reports around 45 agricultural labourers were returning home in the ill-fated pick up van when the mishap occurred. The injured were admitted to the Dharmagarh and Junagarh hospitals. Later some of them were shifted to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) in Bhawanipatna as their conditions deteriorated. Three critically injured were shifted to to VIMSAR in Burla.
